A poem I wrote for Malala

On July 12 1997
A young lady by the name of  Malala was born

Was sent by God from heaven So why should her family mourn?

It's not over until God says so Malala was born for a reason

But there is a problem though
Malala was shot this season

Shot for educating women about their rights
Shot for promoting education for girls

Oh Malala all those sleepless nights
Trying to prove that girls are precious pearls

Many of us, look up to you
For standing for what you believe in

You did what you had to do
Can imagine how hard it must have been

We heard what you had to say
You became our voice

You took a risk that day
But you had no choice

Many young girls look up to you
And all those deprived women out there

I'm sorry for what you had to go through
You did all of this, because you care

You didn't deserve that bullet in your head
Atleast an award instead!

Many of us are happy you're not dead
And we hope you'll get better in your hospital bed
