Divine remembrance

...Divine Remembrance...

Ref. Scripture: Genesis 41:9-13

God never forgets anyone. The all-knowing God could never forget to do whatever He promises to do. God is ever alert and sensitive to the performance of anything He says He will do. But, why is it that in Scriptures, we often read the words "Remember me"? Does this not seem to suggest that God sometimes forget? Would we need to pray for remembrance if God does not forget? Here is what the Scripture says..."Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee" Is. 49:15.

From the above, it is clear that God never forgets. We pray for divine remembrance not because God forgets, but so that He may bring us into focus. When God picks out a man from the crowd, that is divine remembrance at work. Just like you zoom your camera lens on an object, divine remembrance zooms God's attention on the remembered.

The Butler, who had forgotten about Joseph for two full years suddenly remembered Joseph. What did you think triggered that remembrance? God had remembered Joseph!!! When God remembers a man, those who have forgotten him will just suddenly remember him. Joseph was not the only prisoner, but when God brought him into focus, he was the one the king sent for. It doesn't matter how many people know how to do what you do, when God brings you into focus, you are pulled out of the crowd.

Today, I see God remembering you. I see God zooming His attention on you. I see God bringing you into focus. This divine force will pull you out of obscurity into limelight. It will give you the position you do not deserve. It will terminate years of stagnation and pain. God will remember you today in Jesus Name.

Thought For The Day: Until a man is divinely remembered, he remains in obscurity

Work Point: Pray like Hannah did, Lord, remember me.

By me

All poems posted here are written by me. Please dont take credit of what is mine. Some are true some are not, poems I just felt like sharing, poems I know that some will relate to. I'm not a poet, no.  I'm trying.

What happened?

What happened?
How did you get into my heart?
Did you knock or was it a break in?

What happened?
How did we fall apart?
Loving you was just a sin

You promised me forever
Fondled my hair and whispered sweet nothings

Said we were meant to be together
Even bought me Picasso paintings

Why was I so weak?
Obviously I'm to blame

Tears flowing down my cheek
You probably thought this was a game.

Took my heart away,
Now I have no love in me left
I never thought I'd be a victim of theft

Well done, but just know that karma awaits you
So please don't come crawling back to me

Hope someday you'll experience what I went through
I'll never be a fool to someone as much as I've been to thee

It's okay

Sometime we meet bad people so just God can teach us a lesson
Life is too short to live with regrets

Why didn't I read from your expressions?
That what I see is what I get

Today I'm pouring my heart out
Facing with the demons of my life

I can hear them shout
As they bring me sorrow and strife

Loving you was a nightmare
It's like cutting myself with a blunt knife

So this was just an affair
While you were still in love with your wife

I was just....a toy to you...
Something you would just..toss around

My feelings for you were true
But they just ended up...on the ground....

Who are you here to represent?
Because you don't sound like Christ

I figured it out from your accent
When I was being enticed

Your chance of being loved unconditionally
Has now being blown away

Breaking my heart was ridiculously
easy for you day by day

You will never find someone like me
Someone to bring you joy all the days of your life

My love for you was bigger than the sea
Bigger than the one you receive from your "wife"

King Solomon asked for wisdom

So God appeared to King Solomon in a dream, and told him to ask for anything and He will do it for him, King Solomon was still a young man back then, without hesitating he asked for wisdom, and God had granted him wisdom. There will never be a man as wise as king Solomon.

So what if God had appeared to you in a dream? What would you ask for? I tell you, many will ask for wealth, as so to be rich, many will ask for materialistic things, some will ask for marriage. These things don't matter much.
Some will ask for God's healing, for food, for happiness, and some for success.

So take some time and ask yourself, what if God had appeared to you in a dream, what will you ask for?

Because King Solomon didn't ask for wealth or for any meaningless things, God promised to provide him with what he had asked for, wisdom. And He told him that because he hadn't asked for wealth or success, He will grant him what he didn't ask for.

1 kings 3
11 So God replied, “Because you have asked for wisdom in governing my people with justice and have not asked for a long life or wealth or the death of your enemies— 12 I will give you what you asked for! I will give you a wise and understanding heart such as no one else has had or ever will have! 13 And I will also give you what you did not ask for—riches and fame!

Why i refuse to be called christian

My parents classify themselves as christians, I don't. I don't have a problem with christianity or christians themselves, but I have a problem with christianity being a religion.

You may try argue with me and say christianity is a lifestyle, it might be, but christianity is a religion, and we all know that.

We all know that religion separates, yes it does, for there wouldn't be different types of religions such  as christianity, satanism, Buddhism, islam, Hinduism, Pagans etc. All these religions make it seem like there isn't a one God, but many Gods, Christianity claim that their religion is the only way to heaven, whilst Islam think that Allah is the only way.

So religion, segregates us in these little groups, and in these groups we have people insisting that their belief is correct because their "bible" that's inspired by their God tells them so.

Jesus had disciples, who were following him and his teachings, He didn't classify them as Christians, and there was no christianity or religion in Jesus' time.

And oh,  religion is indoctrination and indoctrination is wrong.

Ask any Christian what Christianity means, they will tell you that it means "striving to be like Christ", really now? Is it possible to be like Christ? No it isn't, I know that with God anything is possible, but we can't be like Christ, it is impossible!

I'll tell you why, Christ was born without sin, we were sinners, right from the beginning, Christ lived His life and died without sin, what about us? We continuously sin, no matter how hard we pray and ask for forgiveness, we will still sin, churches preach about repentance, so what do people do? They sin and hopefully ask for forgiveness and "repent", again tomorrow, they sin, ask for forgiveness and "repent", they do the same thing over and over again, I'm talking about them christians, who are striving to be like Christ.

Christ did not judge people, No, He did not curse, He did not have sex before marriage, He did not lie or cheat and steal, Christ was just never a sinner,
But christians do all these things and still convince themselves that they are striving to be like Christ.

I'm not a christian, so what am I? I'm a believer Of Christ, of God, I believe that they both exist, I believe that there is only one God, the one who made the heavens and the earth and everything that is in them, I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins so that in Him I can be saved. What am I? I'm just a believer.

Formulae of prayer

So one day I was sitting in youth group, it was still early and there were a few of us waiting for others to come in so we can start the service.

This guy comes in, and he's like " God please send me a girl to love so I cannot be lonely anymore, please make me wealthy and please give me a permanent job"
Yes those where his exact words, I won't forget.

I told him that it is wrong to start a prayer like that, I told him that the correct way to start a prayer is by praising God, then confess your sins to Him, then thank Him for what He has done for you and then you can make a request, because praying like that makes you look like a selfish person.

He said that he didn't know that prayer has a formulae.
I laughed.

But I told him that God commands us to pray for others, to confess our sins to Him so that we can be forgiven, and I told him that, why can't we just thank God for what He has done for us, why do we continuously have to ask without giving thanks?

"Those people can pray for themselves, I'm not praying for anyone", yet he classifies himself as a man of God, wow.

I told him that, maybe he should think about those who are in hospitals, about the orphans who sleep on empty stomachs, those people who are in accidents, people who are lost, who are kidnapped, or being treated as slaves,I told him that his prayer might be able to save a life, and give hope or about change to one person.
He still wouldn't listen.

A week after that I bought a book by Loron Wade, I love this author, and I came across to this chapter, "A formulae of Prayer"
He says it goes like this:

A= adoration, praise God for who He really is
C= Confession, confess all your sins to Him
T= Thanksgiving, Thank God for what He has done.
S=Supplication, make requests for ourselves and others.

I'm not saying this is the correct way to pray, but that's how it should be done, I always pray for other people, whether I know them or not, I do know that my prayers reach God, and I do know that they bring about change in someone's life.

Prayer, the best weapon,

The key To God's heart.

Ministering the gospel

Evangelism is spreading the good news that Jesus Christ died for our sin, was raised from the dead and is now extending forgiveness of sins to all who would believe.

1.Ministry of reconciliation.

Our first responsibility as ministers is to lead people to Jesus Christ and share our faith as ministers of reconciliation. (2 corinthians 5:18-19).

Evangelism is telling someone the good news, that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was raised from the dead and is now extending forgiveness of sin to all who would believe. (Romans 10:14-15).
All believers can preach the gospel, share the good news and bring glad tiding. Paul is teaching us that one cannot get to know Jesus unless someone shares the news.

That someone is the ordinary believer.

2. Intercession

Those who do the work of ministry intercede (pray) for others. To intercede is to plea or make a request on behalf of another. Ministers understand the power of intercession because it is part of the very nature of God. To intercede for another means to pray with the Holy Spirit to get prayer answers for others.

3. Laying on of hands.

One of the last things that Jesus said when speaking to believers was that they "shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover" (mark 16:18).
We see a transference of anointing when Moses laid hi hands on Joshua. The ministry of laying hand was so important to God that He commanded Moses to do it before all the congregation. (Numbers 27:18,23)

To my father. Linda

A dad is someone to rely on
Someone who'll never leave by your side
Who'll keep you safe until dawn
Who'll comfort you whenever you cried

You rely on him because he is strong
And you know that he's one to protect you
He'll protect you whenever things go wrong
And he'd do anything a father has to do

A dad is someone who's here to stay
Someone who'll never run when things go bad
Someone who'll always make a way
Someone you declare as the best dad

A dad is someone who's bold and tough
Someone who makes sure you get a hot plate before bed
Someone who always makes you laugh
Someone who makes sure you're never sad.

Even when he has had enough
He bottles his feelings in and makes you his number one
That's why I consider them tough

No dad could do what mine has done

Happy fathers day Linda

To my heavenly father

I thank God, who sent his only son to die for me
Who gives me strength and hope.    each morning
Who bought me out of Egypt and set me free
Who comforts me whenever I'm mourning

Day by day I seek God's grace
His love and kindness endures forever
Though I cannot see his face
I know he'll always be with me forever

He's always there, guiding me through my life
Holding me by my hand
As I go through troubles and strife
He makes me understand
That's he's only making me strong
That's why I no longer cry when things go wrong

God talks to me each and everyday
He answers my prayers whenever I pray
That's how I know He'll never go away
For when I'm broken and shattered, God is here to stay

He picks me up whenever I fall
He uplifts my spirit whenever I'm down
God will always give His all
To make sure that I never drown
So today I want to thank You for all you have done
For protecting me from those thieves who pointed me with a gun
Because if it wasn't for you I would have been dead
They would have probably shot me twice in the head

Happy father's day God
There's none other like you
Thank you for your love
For I know that your love is true

Dreams

So I sit and dream all day
Dreaming to be rich like Bill Gates
Living le good life in the states
Being served le good food in a tray

Now as I sit here and think
What if I stopped dreaming and stood up?
My life could change faster than a blink
And maybe I would drink from that golden cup

Dreams can be a waste you know
Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone
So i'll just go with the flow
And do what has to be done

So why shall I keep dreaming,
When life keeps passing me by?
I should be making my way to the top
And Someday i'll be able to rise high

Jesus heals

For who can make a blind man see?
Who can heal a broken heart?
For who can make a deaf man hear?
He was the healer from the start!

For who can cast demons out?
who makes them tremble with fear?
It's Jesus Christ without a doubt!
He'll always be there to hold you near.

Jesus heals with just one touch
Ask Peter's mother in law who got healed
Theres no one else who can do such
It's only Jesus qualified in that field

No
I'm not gonna sit around anymore
watch you and your buddy bully my friend

No
She can't be treated like a whore
I'll fight her battles, do you comprehend?

No
She can't be teased anymore just because she's suffering from cancer
Don't you know shes human too even though she has cut off her hair?

So How does it feel to be a heart crasher?
But hopefully someday, you two will get your share.

No
She can't be bullied anymore, do you comprehend?
I'll fight her battles until the end

Types of people

The world is divided into two types of people, those who are evil and those who are kind
Those who want to do good, and those who just want to do bad
Those who have a sight and those who are blind
Those who are always happy and those who are always sad

But we cant all be the same
Some of us live for the Lord
They probably don't have any shame
That's why they don't have any kindness in them stored

I just wish we could all be good
treat people they way we would want them to treat us
If only we could
then there wouldn't be any fuss

If only we could all love each other
treat one another the same
Treat everyone as a mother or brother
because discrimination isn't a game

Then maybe the world would be a better place for us all
We would have an extra hand every time we fall

But then the world is divided into two types of people,
those who care and those who aren't fair

In heaven

I know I am a sinner,
Thus I asked God for forgiveness
In Him I’m a winner
God rescued me from my illness

I heard an angel speaking to me one day
When I knelt down and was about to pray
He told me to have faith and that I should be strong
And said I should praise God in a song

He told me to continuously seek God’s face
Because God’s mercy is too big to comprehend
And I will probably see His grace
Because God’s grace never ends

He told me about God’s power
That He will protect me every hour
And he told me that I will finally be at peace
Because God’s mercy will never cease

He told me that there will no longer be suffering in heaven
And that I should repent from my evil ways
So that one day I will be in heaven and praise the number seven
In heaven with the son, where He stays

Youth Day

The Soweto uprising, also known as June 16, this is the day when students from numerous schools in soweto started a protest.

They were protesting against bantu education, against apartheid and against Afrikaans as a medium of instruction.

What is bantu education?

It was the kind of education that was provided for black people during the apartheid era, blacks were not supposed to receive the same education as whites, blacks were not supposed to receive the kind of education that would enable them to be lawyers, nurses, engineers etc...the kind of education they received was the one that prepared them to do labour work, to work in factories, etc.
They were forced to learn in a language they could not comprehend, in Afrikaans, teachers were poorly skilled, most of them didn't qualify to be teachers, they themselves couldn't speak nor read afrikaans, but they were required to teach their subjects in it. Classes were overcrowded, they didn't have labs, libraries or sports fields compared to schools designed for whites.

When high-school students in Soweto started protesting for better education on 16 June 1976, police responded with teargas and live bullets. It is commemorated today by a South African national holiday, Youth day, which honors all the young people who lost their lives in the struggle against Apartheid and Bantu Education.

The first person to die on the scene that day, was a 12 year old boy... Hector Peterson.

Mbuyisa Makhubu carrying the body of 12-year-old Hector Petersen, who had been shot, with Hector's sister running next to him.

Mbuyisa Makhubu disappeared on the very same day, running away from the police, and since today he has not been found, no one knows his whereabouts.

People in South Africa were segregated into categories of white, black, Coloured, Indian (or Asian). Blacks were deprived of their citizenship. There were separate schools, buses, shops and hospitals for blacks and coloured people and the services available were well under the standard provided for the minority whites. Even laws were different. A black man found raping a white woman for example could expect years in prison, whereas a white man raping a black woman would probably be fined a small fine.

A special thanks to people like Nelson Mandela, who helped bring apartheid to an end.

Under apartheid, Mandela served nearly 27 years in prison but he never gave up the fight. When Mandela was imprisoned at Robben Island he continued his work and teachings. In South Africa and around the world, Nelson Mandela's anti-apartheid messages gained in popularity.

There is probably no one who has done so much to end the rule of apartheid as Nelson Mandela. He has been the voice of the people and made the message heard right around the world. Certainly Mandela did not act alone but his voice and actions held real power and the battle was eventually won.

After his release from prison in 1990 Nelson Mandela went on to become president of South Africa. Apartheid was officially ended though there is no doubt that much of the racism is still deeply rooted in the country. While Nelson Mandela is no longer president, he is highly respected and his voice is still heard. As a leader and a peacemaker Nelson Mandela was the leading force in the battle against apartheid. A battle worth fighting for and a battle won.

A special thanks to Steve Biko, one of the people who also helped bring apartheid to an end.

ÃŒn September of 1977, Biko was detained, tortured, and ultimately killed by police. For many, he’s become a martyr, and his philosophy is still strong in political activism today.

Steve Biko was one of the most prominent activists in the struggle against the apartheid regime in South Africa and a leader of the Black Consciousness movement.

In 1973, together with seven other student leaders, he was banned and had to return to his home town in Cape Province. There his movements were restricted and he was not allowed to travel, speak in public or write for publication. Despite this, he busied himself in community organisation until, at the end of 1975, his banning order had an added clause inserted so that this activity was also prohibited to him.

In January 1977, he was appointed Honorary President of the Black Peoples Convention, and six months later, he was arrested under Section 6 of the Terrorism Act. He was taken to Port Elizabeth where he was kept naked and chained. He was tortured by the police and he finally died about four weeks later whilst still in detention, aged 31.

I'm writing this journal because I want to show my appreciation to the 1976 students who sacrificed their lives to make South Africa as it is today, these students fought for our freedom, ensuring that the coming generations will have a better life and future compared to the one they lived.

In South Africa today, June 16 is a youth holiday, where we honour the men and women, but mainly students who fought against apartheid.
These students and leaders made South Africa as it is today, and if it wasn't for them, our rights as Africans wouldn't be recognized and we wouldn't be granted the freedom we deserve.

Out of wedlock

You'll see her walking down the street
Makeup covering her face
Her kids have nothing to eat
Oh she's such a disgrace!

A new kid ever year
The youngest is yet to talk
They don't have clothes to wear
They are all born out of wedlock.

Why does she keep repeating the very same mistakes?
Why allow her children to suffer?
Why does she have to go through so many heartbreaks?
Can't she see that life is getting tougher?

The kids don't even know their fathers
Is this the life she wanted to live?
Why did she even fall for those creatures?
Probably this was her motive.

Carriage before marriage is wrong, you see..
They will use you, impregnate you, and leave you be...
They will act all innocent in front of your eyes
They will whisper all sweet things to you from thousand miles
You'll be too blind to see that you're captured in lies
From thousand miles now, they won't hear your cries

You'll have no one to talk to, the baby screaming all night long
You won't know what to do, their screams will be your favourite song

He got what he wanted, and now he's gone
Stop repeating the very same mistakes, and start moving on!

South Africa my land

June 16 1976
When the youth was fighting for it's freedom

Carrying posters and ready with bricks
Striving for a better kingdom!

Today we have youth's day
Because of the youth

Who fought for us each day
Who stood for the truth

Some died in the scene
Some nowhere to be found

Freedom where have you been?
Six feet underground?

Many people died
Striving for you
It was a tiresome ride
If only you knew

Thanks to Nelson Mandela
A man filled with wisdom

Thanks to Steve Biko
For fighting for our freedom!

The road to democracy
Was a long and difficult one

They fought off autocracy
It wasn't easy nor fun

Today we can stand with pride
And sing our national anthem

And it's all for those who died
We couldn't do it without them

"Sounds the call to come together
And united we shall stand
Let us live and strive for freedom
In south Africa our land"

Forever I shall sing this song!
Expressing my inner anguish

They will remind me to always be strong
These words shall never perish

Unemployment

Being unemployed is hard you know
Better ask my mom, she will tell you so

She tried her best
To prepare us a hot plate
She would never rest
Till she's sure we all ate

Sometimes we got kicked out of the house
Cause There was no money for rent
She couldn't afford a blouse
Cause we had not even a cent

Getting kicked out of school
Cause mom couldn't pay fees
But why is life so cruel
Couldn't her mind be at ease?

It is hard to get a job
if you have no degree
There's no reason to sob
I just wanted her to be free

The road of unemployment had led me to do
Things I'm not proud of, but you would have done too

I had to dodge school
Find a way to make money
I know I was a fool
But we were poor like funny

We really had nothing
But we managed to stay strong
This really means something
Cause we still get along

A poem I wrote for Malala

On July 12 1997
A young lady by the name of  Malala was born

Was sent by God from heaven So why should her family mourn?

It's not over until God says so Malala was born for a reason

But there is a problem though
Malala was shot this season

Shot for educating women about their rights
Shot for promoting education for girls

Oh Malala all those sleepless nights
Trying to prove that girls are precious pearls

Many of us, look up to you
For standing for what you believe in

You did what you had to do
Can imagine how hard it must have been

We heard what you had to say
You became our voice

You took a risk that day
But you had no choice

Many young girls look up to you
And all those deprived women out there

I'm sorry for what you had to go through
You did all of this, because you care

You didn't deserve that bullet in your head
Atleast an award instead!

Many of us are happy you're not dead
And we hope you'll get better in your hospital bed
